Called American Express at 1-866-241-8190 because the rebate hadn't arrived within the 6-8 weeks it said to allow for delivery and the rebate form says to call that number if that is the case. When I called they told me that I needed to wait another few weeks because the 6-8 weeks are AFTER they process the rebate...what a scam!... so I guess that means that it can take up to whenever (might be years!) for them to process it and THEN wait another 6-8 weeks that is the period that they claim you'll receive your rebate money, that's a JOKE! And to top it all, the AMEX card received (the points) expire in 6 months of whatever reminder not used!!!

They had been great with other rebates, but this one they messed up. The person in India that processed the reward finally claimed that the reward was closed and refused to process it despite it being their fault. BellSouth stepped up and gave me a credit for the full amount plus $15 more. I'm happy now.

I have not heard from Missouri attorney general's office as of this message. Toll free number is still registered as disconnected, and web-rebates.com still has no info on my rebate.
11-9-06 Recieved info from attorney general's office in IL. They will start investigating the issue. Still no response from rebate company and number is still disconnected. No response from manufacturer either.
12/2006-Recieved information from Attorney general for State of illinois. They advised that I may recieve contact from CompUSA.
12/19/06- Recieved info from Missouri attorney general that they are forwarding complaint to illinois attorney general.
12/26- No other info on this rebate attempt. Considering giving up status.
02/24/07- Given up on rebate, rebate was submitted successfully and was even acknowledged. All three states attorney's offices were of no help.
